HMMA Nominee Meeghan Henry Rocks Music Charts and Hits High Notes With Fans

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ — In a matter of weeks, Meeghan Henry’s debut single “When I’m 18, ” produced by industry powerbroker Ronnie King, has climbed music charts worldwide. Now the 15-year-old pop diva is receiving even more notable recognition with the nomination of “When I’m 18″ for the annual Hollywood Music in Media™ Awards (HMMA). Taking place on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at the Kodak Theater Complex/Hollywood & Highlands Center, the red carpet awards show honors the music of visual mediums, independent music artists, and the professionals responsible for placing music in visual mediums.

Meeghan’s timely nomination spotlights the creativity and visual integrity behind her music video, directed by Li Lu and produced by Hugh Hung, two graduates from the University of Southern California. Shot on a Red One Camera, “When I’m 18″ takes viewers into the imagination of a spirited teenage girl (Meeghan Henry) who dreams of fame, fashion, and flirtatious adolescent fun.

Since Meeghan released “When I’m 18″ in late July, the tune has also been made available in both a rock and pop version through iTunes® (http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/meeghan-henry/id367070414). A sampling of her music chart success includes:

* No. 3 Top 30 Chart/IMN
* No. 6 Hot AC40 Indie Chart/NMW
* No. 16 AC40 Main Chart/NMW
* No. 15 FMQB/ACQB Top 200 Chart
* No. 18 Hot 100 Chart/NMW

Meanwhile, Meeghan is releasing yet another single, “Fallin’ for You,” produced by CMINOR (Timothy Zimnoch) and posting on iTunes in an English version on September 15. The Indonesian version of “Fallin’ for You” will be available on iTunes before November. (It’s called “JATUH CINTA.”) The single’s music video, another team venture by Lu and Hung, will also hit YouTube on September 15, marking the official debut of Meeghan’s second major title.

When it comes to stardom, it’s been an eventful year for Meeghan, who stepped into the limelight this past February when she appeared with Colby O’Donis at a Beverly Hills performance. Since then, she’s accepted singing engagements at the Indonesian Pasar Senggol, Annual Holland Festival in Long Beach, Calif., at Union Square in San Francisco’s Times Square and at Disney’s House of Blues, to name a few. Upcoming performances include the Full Moon Festival for the Chinese American Celebration (September 12) and the Art Festival at Hollywood’s Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre (October 9). Meeghan will travel this November to Indonesia, where she’ll mix vacation with promotions and performing.

In addition to singing her new singles and keeping pace with growing fame, Meeghan is also keeping pace with “teenage life.” Currently home-schooled, the young pop star has set her sights on attending a good college and is studying hard for her SATs.

Pop Diva Meeghan Henry Releases New Single ‘When I’m 18′

AZUSA, Calif., July 21 /PRNewswire/ — Meeghan Henry won’t have to wait until she’s 18 to be famous. At 15, the fetching Indonesian-born singer/songwriter is already making a name for herself, creating an industry buzz that puts her on the same path to pop stardom as the likes of LeAnn Rimes and Miley Cyrus. Her newly released single, “When I’m 18,” is currently playing on radio stations all across the U.S. and charting on NMW, FMQB, IMN and beyond.

“I always wanted to entertain people,” said Meeghan, who moved with her family to California before she was five. A gifted straight-A student, Meeghan juggled performing arts school with modeling, television commercials, beauty pageants and voice lessons, always with the full support of her family.

Meeghan’s big break came when she was discovered at California Sound Studios by music industry powerbroker Ronnie King. An internationally renowned producer and virtuoso keyboardist, King is known for his behind-the-scenes work with Mariah Carey, Tupac Shakur, and Snoop Dogg. Also on her production team is C Minor (Fallin’ For You, Dance Wit’ Me) and Terence Davis (Best Friends Forever, Spooky), a collaboration that resulted in her breakout album, “When I’m 18,” on the indie MHI Records label. Rich with pop hooks and catchy lyrics, “When I’m 18,” is already attracting thousands of fans to Meeghan’s music video on YouTube.

An electrifying live performer, Meeghan wowed a sold-out crowd at Beverly Hills’ Saban Theatre earlier this year when she shared the bill with Colby O’Donis, whose duet with Lady Gaga, “Just Dance,” reached #1 on the Billboard charts. She was also recently featured on The Ryan and Randi Show (http://www.theryanandrandishow.tv/presents/meeghanhenry.php). On July 31st, Meeghan will perform in San Francisco’s Union Square, headlining the annual Indonesian Day parade.

Determined not to let the attention and accolades go to her head, the precocious and preternaturally talented Meeghan keeps her eyes on the prize. Poised beyond her years, Meeghan understands that talent alone won’t get her to the top. “It takes a lot of focus and hard work,” said the Indonesian beauty. “I’m dedicated to making it.” And chances are, she won’t have to be 18 to meet her goal.

Her album, “When I’m 18,” is available on iTunes and in music stores nationwide.
