When I’m 18 Rock Version!

In February, I had my first concert at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills. It was a huge success and I had the best time. Well, there was this band that opened for me. They were called ONE11. There’s three boys: Michael, Austin, and Ryan, and they’re all just the sweetest guys. A little bit crazy…no, really crazy, but at the theater before the show started, we got to talking. And one of the things that came up was my favorite song When I’m 18. They told me that the song was really good and they liked it so much that they made their own rock version of it.

I was, like, “What?! That’s so crazy!” I mean, right? They made their own version of my song! I felt so special! Haha. So, they asked me if I wanted to take a listen and of course I said yes. Michael had it on his phone and we all listened to it. I thought it was such a good idea and, from what I heard on the phone, it was really good. I told them we had to record it.

Well, it happened. I finally got together with ONE11 and we recorded WHEN I’M 18 ROCK VERSION! I don’t mean to brag or anything, but the song sounds so good! We upped the tempo and the live instruments make the song sound so much more real.

The whole experience of recording the song was great, too. We all worked together, as in we all recorded at the same time. Live music and everything. That was the first time I had ever recorded a song with live music. Granted I haven’t been through too much, but still! That’s a big deal.

And I had so much fun with the guys. They had so much energy and they were so entertaining and supportive. In fact, at one point in the day when I was recording my part for the song, the boys just came right into the recording booth and just sat down and hung out with me for a while. I thought that was really nice of them. You know, I was in the recording booth alone and getting a little restless because I had been in there for a long time and then they come in and their presence just pumped me up. It was great…just to have people your age be around you and keep you company.

The next step is the performance video and I’m so excited to do it. We’re gonna be shooting it in Palm Springs, and it’s gonna be so good. There’s a lot of people already in on the project coming up with some great ideas for the video, and we’ve got tons of supporters backing us up.

This is just another step closer to fulfilling my dream. I’m so appreciative of what I have and excited for what’s to come. I’ll make sure to keep you guys updated throughout my journey =)
